In conjunction with the University Hospital Foundation, the Division of Gastroenterology hosted donors and guests for an informative evening that showcased the-state-of-the-art Zeidler Gastroenterology Health Centre, Allan H. Owen Endoscopy Suite and Centre of Excellence for Gastrointestinal Inflammation and Immunity Research (CEGIIR). More than 40 donors and guests were welcomed by Ms. Joyce Law (President, University Hospital Foundation) and Dr. Sander Veldhuyzen van Zanten (Director, Division of Gastroenterology, Alberta Health Services Zone Head) at the McMullen Gallery located in the University Hospital. Dr. Veldhuyzen van Zanten briefly reviewed the exciting new developments in gastroenterology and hepatology research, diagnostic tools and patient care available at University of Alberta Hospital.
Small groups of attendees were taken on guided tours by Drs. Richard Fedorak, Gurpal Sandha, Mang Ma and Dina Kao. The tours emphasized the exciting new developments in gastroenterology and hepatology: (a) fibroscan technology and (b) fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT). The evening was capped off by a reception.
The Division of Gastroenterology and CEGIIR wish to thank all donors and guests for their time, tremendous effort and continued support of the Division of Gastroenterology. Advancements in patient care, treatment and research is simply not possible without their dedication and support.
We provide care for patients with gastrointestinal disease that is second to none. And with your help we have the ambition to take it to an even higher level.
